Before you libertarians protest, think about what 'slippery slope' argument that you guys aren't shy to deploy: "If we don't allow gay marriage/pot smoking/private ownership of Abrams tanks etc., the Next Stop Is Nazi Germany!".

Both sides have a slippery slope argument. It's just that the cultural conservatives have a valid argument.

Kids are already being shuttled, under court orders, between various sets of parents and step-parents, who all have varying degrees of parental rights to the child (often varying by the day of the week!), and often with open warfare going on between some of the adults. I don't see how court endorsement of an amicable agreement between three parents, that they are all legal parents of a child, opens any floodgates.

Lesbian couples, on the other hand, tend toward monogamy.

The lesbians I know (long story) are somewhat monogamous, but most of them have all "hooked-up" with everyone else in their little community at one time or another. Show me a heterosexual community like that. It is very weird. Many of them will have several "monogamous" relationships a year. I don't intend to be mean by this comment but they are really a pathetic community of misfits and victims looking for a place to belong. They don't need marriage, recognition, children, etc....; they need therapy.
