Thanks for your thanks. My motives for enlisting were not altruistic however. The job training, college benefits, and the pride of being a Marine were what drew me in. Kinda selfish and not really deserving thanks IMO.

I was working with the local LP for a while there before the last election cycle. I may be doing so again, if they can get their heads out of their a$$es on who to run and how. I'm tired of wasting money on horses that never come in.

My legal status could change rather quickly as well. Between all the terror alerts, and an increase in our local crime rates, I'm finding that traveling around the area feels awefully darn vulnerable without a pistola. Two rapists and a set of car jackers were brought down by the local PD within scant miles of my house in the last four months. This is supposed to be the "good" side of town as well. I will not submit to the government for "permission", not to mention pay the extortion fee, to carry a tool that should be my Right to have and carry.

Letting a Democrat win is intolerable. I'd rather push for RLC candidates first, libertarian next, and independant or just abstaining as a last resort.

If a Rat wins the White House, with all the extra "powers" that has been given Bush, ...
I think it is safe to say that what would be left of our country wouldn't BE the United States anymore. It's already past "Claire Time" and the hogs have already died of starvation. The frogs are nothing but picked over bits of cartiledge.

I think you get the idea...

Sad but true. I guess everything dies eventually. Freedom will live on in our hearts, if nowhere else.

Don't sell yourself short. Sure you might have joined for your own gain. But had it come down to it, I think you would have faced hopeless situations and gave it all, even your life, in defense of your country. That might win you a medal posthumously, but it wouldn't do much for your career. For that, you deserve thanks.
