Sex education is bound to advance the idea that heterosexuality and homosexuality are equally normative, regardless of curriculum. This is because sex educators will teach their own liberal values regardless of what the curriculum says. So the problem with sex education, as always, is schools teaching what should be taught in the home, rather than the curriculum. Even abstinence education is very wrong when taught by health teachers who last year taught sex education.

The challenge for parents who don't home school, including my wife and I, is to teach both why we believe in tolerance and why a homosexual life should be avoided.

I think that we need a don't ask, don't tell sex education policy in the schools. If a kid doesn't ask the question, it doesn't get answered.

I was very naieve about sex education when my son was in grade school and signed the permission form, which I don't think is even required any more. My son is now 21. Fortunately, my son happened to be out sick the whole week with the flu, but I escorted the class on a field trip a week later and witnessed some of the effects of exposing kids to sex before they are ready. The little boys started calling each other gay and asking how their ovaries, uterus and other female parts were and giggling. They couldn't stop talking about it. The gay portion of the class was totally unsuccessful, but it seems as though they have been working on that for the past eleven years.

The bigger challenge is for parents to get involved with the teachers and admin at the school. Once they do - they will begin to see the general drift of philosophy of the school.

The other thing parents can do is hold a meeting with your childs friends from school - discuss the situation - find out how much support you have and INFORM your school you will not tolerate the gay agenda or the liberal agenda being taught to your child.
