I read in another article where a dozen Califronia lawmakers requested and reciever SUV's valued at about $30,000 each!, and at tax payer expense no less. And people wonder why the state is in a deficet situation. If the state lawmakers and legislateurs took a pay cut and didn't spenk tax payers money on frivolous items the deficent wouldn't be as great.

Last year the city of San Jose applied for a $1 million grant from the state to purchase land for trails. I'd be interested to know if that grant program is still in the budget.
