The makers of wine, beer and spirits should pay a fee to bolster California's sagging emergency care system and help bridge the state's massive budget gap, according to a state senator who introduced a bill Thursday to impose a 5-cents-a-drink fee.

It is similar to a bill Romero proposed in the last legislative session to help cover a $23.6 billion state budget shortfall. Now the state faces an even bigger gap, approaching $30 billion. Romero said Thursday Watch the bouncing budget ball as it bounds ever higher.
Why shucks, let's tax food because because it causes increased traffic on our under funded road system as people shop for their families.

I wonder how much of the $13 billion dollars going to Mexico is from California and wasn't declared as income to be taxed?

I wonder why the US Post Office and/or the Controller of Currency doesn't require a wiring bank to get SS #'s, to make a data entry at the IRS, of amount being sent out of country. Wouldn't that new reg be Fox's worst nightemare.
