It sounds to me like he screwed somebody over on a drug deal. For a guy that rich to be hanging out in South Central LA, I doubt he was there to scope out a good restaurant or buy records. He got killed because of something he was into. That's a ridiculous assumption bordering on racist. Do you know anything about South Central LA? Do you live in LA or the surrounding area? Because you know plenty of people do, black, white, and mexican. Some of those people even have friends, neighbors, and relatives and they might actually travel to South Central to visit them.
A friend's mother lives there. It is certainly comforting to know that if I traveled to South Central to visit my friend or his mother, and became the victim of a drive-by shooting, robbery, or other random act of violence, I would be villified by my fellow FREEpers as a drug user/dealer before the casket was lowered. The sickening implication being my actions somehow warranted death.

As a matter of fact I do know something about South Central L.A. You couldn't pay me a six-figure salary to live there.

No. You may be villified by the one person that made the comment. You just broadbrushed Freepers, while complaining that people in SC LA were unfairly maligned by a single incident.

You have a damn good point, and it is sad that this is the way the majority of our society thinks. Well put.
