The New York State Health Commissioner has an advertisement on WABC Radio where he recounts every lie you ever heard about cigarrettes. That "Big Tobacco" spends $10 Billion a year to entice new smokers, that second hand smoke is absolutely deadly, that cigarrettes are more addictive than heroin, etc. ad nauseum.

It is really embarrassing when people in responsible positions can so shamelessly spout such BS in a public forum.

I've never met a bartender or waiter who had any trouble with it...worked as a bartender for several years, no problem with customers smoking, the drinking bothered me a little but not the smoking.

Ping to all Floridians. This stupid idea is on the ballot November 6!!!! Before everyone chuckles and says "it's just smokers" and "it's a nasty habit anyways", just take a look at what else is being deemed "unhealthy" and new attempts are being drawn up to ban or restrict your usage by the trail lawyers and healthnazis:

1. Fast food. Commiefornia is probably going to implement a punishing tax if Grayout is re-elected, because "fast-food is so enticing to the children it causes an unhealthy lifestyle". Of course God forbid that evil term "personal responsibility" enters into the discussion.
2. Soda pop. Commiefornia has implemented a tax on this AND it's now being considered by other states as a method to raise revenue and control our sweet tooth.
3. Chocolate. The trial lawyers are already suing and you can see where this is going.
4. SUV's. Commiefornia once again leads the way with a punishing tax which will cripple SUV sales except to the wealthy Hollyweirdsocialists who could care less anyways. Once it starts there, it will spread.
5. The internet. What? Is this urban legend cropping up again? No, I wish that were the case. In Florida the demorats and some pubbies are considering charging the buyer of internet goods the sales tax they would have collected if they had purchased the goods inside of Florida. Needless to say it was shot down, but for how long as budgets are being trimmed?

This is just the tip of the iceburg. You might view this from one perspective or another as a "health" issue, but the reality is that this is a conitinuing assault on our freedoms. Lose this one and the 1st and 2nd Amendments are not far behind. The democommies and behaviorial control freaks are already working on that if you haven't noticed.
