It's not the background I am referring to. If you look, on the left side of the picture of just the hair, you will see large pixilation where the hair meets the background. That is a tell tale sign in Photoshop that someone tried to blend two photos together. Again, I'm not 100%, but I would not stake my campaign on it.1

If there is what appears at first to be a bad spot on the left side of Davis' head level with his top hairline where his hair meets that bright molding in the backdrop. It might be a halo but it could also be a shadow in the hair from a bounce flash. The effect is consistent on the top left side of the donor's head. There appear to be some strange vertical color shifts from top to bottom across the image, but they are periodic and continuous, indicating if there is a scaning approximation in the CCD that they are the same in the backdrop and the foreground. "Fixing" that into the photo would be an enormous amount of work. Given that a potential "photo doctor" would not be likely to make the same mistake in two places, I am inclined to think the photo is genuine.
