Today's long-awaited debate between Democratic Gov. Gray Davis and Republican Bill Simon could be scrapped over a dispute about what to do with Green Party candidate Peter Camejo.
Simon has threatened to pull out if the Los Angeles Times, the debate's sponsor, does not allow Camejo to attend as his guest. Davis' campaign has said the governor won't show up if Camejo is even in the audience.

Tough choices for Simon!
But if it works to make Davis look even worse , good!

The real story, the one you aren't going to here in the press, is that in the rules of the debate said that Simon and Davis could each bring 25 guests. The rules didn't say, "You can being 25 guests, but not Peter Camejo". There were not restrictions on who the guests were. But Davis said he wouldn't show up if Camejo showed up.
I don't like the Greenies anymore than any FReeper, but the one thing I respect them on is that the real Greens are true believers. They really believe what they are doing is best for the country or state, they are sincere. Most Democrats and liberal Republicans are in it for what they can get, how they can manipulate, the game, or power. They don't look at the future and see how their actions are going to impact it.
IMHO.
Dump Davis!!!!!!!!!!

Simon also invited Ralph Nader, the Green Party presidential candidate from 2000 who was viewed by some as contributing to President Bush's victory by drawing crucial Democratic votes. It was unclear whether Nader would attend.

No, This IS the Camejo who ran for President on that platform. I listened to him on the Tom Sullivan radio show the other day. Great speaker, articulate, well versed in all issues.
I greatly admired him - not because I agreed with him - in fact I disagreed with him on almost all points. However, he was clearly a liberal and not ashamed of it and was running on it.
A great quote from him - Tom Sullivan asked him to speak to republicans about why they should vote for him - his answer -
If you are Conservative - vote for Simon. If you are Progressive - vote for me. If you are unsure and are of a criminal bent - vote for Davis! I loved it.
Too long for a bumper sticker but he has Davis nailed!
I like it!
He already looks that way . . . and he's a whore.
