OK, I just skimmed through the rest of the thread... I see no "defenses", just emotional reactions, variation on two general themes -- 'mind your own business, fascist' and 'my momma did heroin and I turned out fine'. Neither one addresses the cost-benefit ratio that LionelHutz tried to examine.
