Jorge replied early in the thread that he knew why some people were against Bush pandering to Hispanics and said it MUST be due to bigotry i.e. racism ect ect. Now ignoring the fact that he's objectively wrong, for him to come out of nowwhere and start insinuating crap like that is uncalled for.

Go back and read my posts and you will see that KantianBurke either cannot read or likes to make up stories.

Here is what I REALLY posted;

To; Diddle E. Squat

Better to stay "pure" in ever-shrinking numbers, or explain and recruit to conservatism? Why the dissappointment that Hispanics are open to the message of conservatism?

One word. Bigotry.

29 posted on 9/2/02 7:50 PM Eastern by Jorge

Now tell me.
Why would any conservative resent Hispanics becoming conservatives?
I bet my answer is the best one.

With Hillary as President and Coumo as Chief Justice, there will be nothing left of the Constitution to defend.

I understand the basis with which you advance you're argument, but not the practicality.

Some of us have a problem with a President treating a specific racial group in this country as anything but Americans and more like favored "pets" and giving them substantial and costly benefits for political gain. You sound educated. You still can't connect the dots? You're more conservative than your friends? Pray tell how does your definition of conservatism fit in with that behavior?

That's pure BS. In case you haven't come into the real world all political parties and politicans target certain people and group's. If the Republicans do not find a way to get our message to blacks and hispanics then our party is going to die and the democrats will control everything.

I'm sorry but like some others I read some bias into all these comments about not going for the hispanic vote. You need to either come into the real world or come to grips with some of your own thoughts.

"One word. Bigotry."

I have one word for you: Liberal

"Liberal"?
The reason conservatives would be dissappointed "that Hispanics are open to the message of conservatism" is because they are "Liberal"?

That doesn't even make sense.
Perhaps you should go back and read the post again.

Furthermore, you fail to see the facts of what is happening. Political Correctness often clouds common sense.

Wanting Hispanics to agree with conservative values is "Political Correctness"?
Why don't you want Hispanics to be conservative?

Bob J, Bush could abide by the rule of law and court people.

Bush is part of the Executive Branch, not the Judicial.

However, he plays the same old group politics.

They've proven effective, as lousy as it is.

Meanwhile, it will cost us chunks of our country, our culture (Hmmm...)...

Prove it.

...as well as any chance of re-electing a future conservative.

I see. Handing over the largest and quickest growing demographic segment of voters to the Dems will help get conservatives elected.

Hope rarely supercedes trends. Just remember that.

No, results supercedes trends.

Bob, I was stating courts as in "Courting voters", not the judicial branch.

Furthermore, Bush supports the legalization of illegal aliens. Why do you think their numbers are growing as fast as they are. This isn't destined to happen. It has happened through inaction and unenforcement of our nation's borders. In fact, if illegal immigration were enforced, many would be deported, and a chunk would deport themselves. Thus, the point is moot. As it now stands, Bush is planning an amnesty, is giving addresses in Spanish, and is legitimizing a second dominant culture within our country. As the effects of another amnesty occur, under family reunification, the problem will escalate ten-fold, as Spanish regions start popping up in our land. All you have to do is go to any area where Illegal Mexicans have congregated. There's rarely a sign of the English language. I'm sure that you know what I'm talking about. After all, you live in the bay area.

As I told you just a couple of days ago in one of your rant vanity posts, I am a native Texan, live in DFW, have naturalized in-laws, and have parents in a neighborhood that went from all-white to majority Hispanic(they originally were worried, but now would never think of leaving.) Have spent a good bit of time in the innercity, and am familiar with both the problems and realities. Far more so than an idealistic 25-year old troll flinging invectives and myths willy-nilly. I understand that good people can be strongly anti-immigration, and I can respect(and even agree) with many of their arguments. Not so with your posts, which usually invoke the borderline language and hyperbole that often come along to taint these threads, and bring the inevitable charges of racism to these posts. Make a logical point reasonably, and I'll debate. But I'm not going to waste my time with a kid throwing out garbage about "invasion", "balkanization", "neo-cons", "Houston will be a Mexican city in 20 years", etc.

I guess you didn't learn anything from the response to your antics on the Bush speech thread today, did ya?

No, condoning illegal immigration and giving addresses in a foreign language is liberal. Furthermore, it signals the death for our Republic.

No one is bigoted at any group. However, if one sees his country being transformed right before his eyes, on purpose, he has a right to be upset. That's not bigoted, that's rational.

The term bigot is not the same as racist. There are many political bigots on this forum.

bigot (bîg´et) noun One who is strongly partial to one's own group, religion, race, or politics and is intolerant of those who differ.

racism (râ´sîz´em) noun

1. The belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others.

2. Discrimination or prejudice based on race.

I love your line of thinking:

"Boy whoever disagrees with me is a B-I-G-O-T!"

It's just amazing that you can discern my "line of thinking' without actually being able to read my post.
Anyone can go back and read my posts and see that nothing I've posted even remotely suggests what you claim above.
Unfortunately you think people who don't even know you are calling you a bigot...in posts that don't even mention your name.
How sad.

"Whhhhhaaaat? Lil ole ME didn't mean to cast aspertions on you."

"Wait you're upset about being called a racist???? Oh you must be one then."

Why else would you take something so personally that wasn't addressed to you and had nothing to do with you?

You claimed I accused you of being racist against Hispanics when I never even heard your name before let along said anything about you.

To have you appear out of the blue as if I attacked you personally is really odd.

And I'm sure that being pro-life, pro-Second Amendment, in favor of tax cuts, ditching the Kyoto treaty, ditching the ABM Treaty, and ditching the ICC is "Liberal?"

Yeah, right, if you REALLY think that, you'd believe me if I told you I have a date with Britney Spears Friday night. Not likely, which is the same that goes with your rant. Accept it, good conservatives can disagree on how to handle the immigration issue.

Quite frankly, I'm not worried about Mexican immigration. I'm far more worried about the demagouges and hucksters who are demanding reparations for slavery or shaking down various businesses. Quite frankly, a Mexican immigrant is far more reflective of America's culture and is a better net benefit to the U.S. than Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton.

The guy doesn't even understand the English he is demanding everyone else adhere to, Bigot is a completely benign term. I am a bigot on MANY issues that have nothing to do with race nor am I a Racist.
