With the meltdown and likely implosion of the Simon candidacy, alas, what would happen if Simon were to quit the race? Would the GOP state committee chose a successor, or would Davis run unopposed?

Simon is in a tough situation right now. He should have hired some tough guys last spring. Not now. Not after he's been raked over the coals.
Of course, we could still catch Davis in bed with a dead girl or a live boy, but I wouldn't count on it.
