It really is amazing how the media continue to parrot the DNC talking-points fax, even though much of the public has caught on to the practice. But the media, in their desperation, keeps trying it - even though the polls (Gallup, yesterday, was the latest) keep showing that the public ain't buyin' it. The problemo is that this game is all that Terry knows - and the media is all too happy to have someone else do their dirty work for them.
To be at least a LITTLE bit fair to the WH Press Corps, they ARE under orders to get themselves on camera asking the questions that Bush answers. It sure didn't work yesterday, though - each of the nets presented the news conference in the most hacked-together, disjointed reports I've seen them do in a long time. This is because Dubya played the conference so well that they couldn't use a single complete sentence of his without running counter to their agenda. So it was a couple of words here, a chop-chop there, very hideous editing they used to keep the Amurrican Pipple from hearing Bush's complete sentences.
Must have been maddening.
