[history]
Sacramento -- The chairman of a Senate committee investigating California's dysfunctional energy market says the Los Angeles public power system may have falsified documents to counter charges that it helped manipulated the market two years ago.
The surprise allegation came during a hearing Tuesday in which another key player in the state's energy deregulation scheme -- Enron Corp. -- was accused of destroying electronic documents it gave to the committee.

The ultra pure LADWP is having a bit of trouble. Time for the head of this investigation to be replaced by someone more sympathetic to Gray-Out.

If the conversation was manipulated, Dunn said, officials with the power agency could be held in contempt, and their lawyers could be subject to disciplinary action if they were involved.Even better ... revoke their tax-exempt status and make 'em live in the real world.

The Los Angeles agency says the $1,250 transaction was proper, but nevertheless hired a Washington, D.C., law firm Tuesday to conduct an internal review of their trading and marketing practices. Mayor James Hahn also called for the Department of Water and Power to investigate. $1250 is chump change! I don't understand what is going on? Everybody knew that LA DWP was making money hand over fist to the point that they had a hard choice of either lowering electric utility rates while everyone else in California was raising rates or to pay down their outstanding bond debt in advance of when the payments were due. LA DWP made a bunch of money off the energy crisis.
LA DWP, tell the world you were lucky and you took advantage of the situation, i.e. get a life and live it.

Wasn't trash, people send messages (secret of course ) on pizza boxes all the time.
That is how they manipulate the markets!

Why not a computer glitch? It worked for Gore and his emails. They won't shred--accidental fire.
