"We are the people that count. As long as we know - and there is an expanding circle of us - the coverup is a joke. What Dan Rather says is, nowadays, a joke. Anyone who believes him is a fool.".............

I like where your heart is, but you're very wrong. We are NOT the people who count. This country is going to go nowhere positive if only a few people are knowledgable. It just serves to make us look like "conspiracy nuts". When the government (for whatever reasons) can successfully cover this up, there are bad days ahead.......maybe.

Then again, there may be "good" reasons for the coverup......but I doubt it. But we are NOT the people who count. The uninformed out there count, because their ignorance in these matters is a sign of a less-than-free press.....to say the least! And that is the worst thing. When John Gibson talks of these matters on FoxNews I think the ice is melting, but it's a huge chunk of ice.

There was always in in-crowd. My dad subscribed to Wall Street tip sheets that often took an "unofficial" line on the news. Basically what FR has done is to expand the circle of people who take a truly critial view of the news (propaganda) from active investors and what we today call "policy wonks" to a pretty wide audience of people on the Internet. Why else would we have an active nest of shills promoting various government and industry positions like: witnesses to plane crashes didn't see what they saw, it's domestic anthrax (and Atta was in Prague for the beer), etc., and if that fails they drag out the UFO/Bilderberg crap to try to pollute the discussion.

The circle of people who instictively mutter "bullsh*t" when DanPeterRatherJennings talks is probably 100X bigger than it used to be. Big enough to influence the agenda on talk radio, for sure. Big enough that FNC, at least, makes a nod in our direction fairly regularly. Big enough that the NY Post seems at times to get their ideas from FR.
