Apparently you see legislative compromise (which Reagan also believed in) as evil and "caving." I can't help you on that point...you just need to understand politics better.
M'am, with all due respect, I have never suggested that legislative comprimise is evil. You're apparent misrepresentation of what I asked in that regard is unfair and incorrect, imo.
To clarify your answer then, are you stating here and now that President Bush will not comprimise in any of the conditions in his Middle-East policy statement today ?

I like your translation.

"The Oslo accords are a set of agreements between Israel and the Palestinians laying down a timetable and rules for the progressive implementation of autonomy on the West Bank and in the Gaza Strip, and defining the conditions for the final negotiations on outstanding issues. Mutual recognition was declared by Yasser Arafat and Yitzhak Rabin on 9 and 10 September 1993. Since then a number of treaties have been concluded between the two parties, but in all cases their application has been considerably delayed."

I suspect Ariel was briefed ahead on the speeches content..thus the postioning of significant IDF assets in hot spots should Palie anger mount up.
Revenge and irrational thinking are Ishmaeli traits...it could get very hot for Israel in the next few weeks.

When did Bush find this "vision?" He never mentioned it during his campaign. In fact, he didn't mention it until October of 2001 -- after 9/11. I have a vision of dancing sugar plums, or whatever, but that doesn't make a serious position. Another terrorist state is not a vision, it's a terrible mistake.

"I think we are seeing God's grace in action in this President's life and it is stunning to watch. Very humbling." I agree with you. Your comment reminds me of the President's address at the National Cathedral after 9-11. There was such concern etched in the faces of Bush 41 and the others in the audience, but the President responded with an air of confidence that seemed to say, be not afraid, I'm not doing this alone, I have help.

I have no intention of defending things I never said. How many times do I have to answer the same question? I answered accurately. I suspect the problem is, that you didn't like the answer. I have had enough of your accusatory, irritating posts. Have a nice day.

President Bush told the Palestinians that their leadership had to be changed, and the new leadership could not be associated with terrorism. Furthermore, the new leadership had to eliminate terrorism originating from their terrority (I suspect they may need some help with this...).
There is only one possible interpretation. Arafat and his pals have to go. They will not go willingly. Connect the dots, Freepers.
The speach had a lot more, but this alone would be huge.

Sir,
I admit the spelling error. Thank you for pointing it out.
None-the-less, the substance of the question I asked you to reply to, still remains unanswered.
Please publically reply to the substance of my question in #375.
Thank you.

If you and others are correct, that Bush is sly like a fox, that he's laying the foundation for the Israelis to destroy the terrorists, then I have to ask why? Will the Arab states that are fomenting this terrorism be impressed? Of course not. Will the appeasers in Europe be impressed? Of course not. Meanwhile, Israelis are being murdered in their beds. Hamas is targeting children on school buses. I think Bush deserves to be taken at his word, rather than have so many put words in his mouth in hopes of finding a consistent policy. The terrorists understand military strength and nothing else. Israel has been held back long enough. She must be free to defend herself.

I posted the following to Spiff after his mindless mantra of bashing SOS Powell:
How about posting your resume so we can compare it to SOS Powell? We are waiting!
Here is the typical resume of the professional hate GW, third party orphan as posted by Spiff:
Bite me, gramps. Powell sucks.
Time to leave these great whines and mantras of life's perpetual losers, the Third Party Orphans.

When did Bush find this "vision?" He never mentioned it during his campaign. In fact, he didn't mention it until October of 2001 -- after 9/11. That's funny. The Twin Towers fell the same day. It just kills some people that President Bush gets the credit for doing the right thing, doesn't it?
it's not really important tha he thought of a good plan, only that he didn't do it before 9/11, right?
For the record, what were saying before 9/11 to offset a terrorist attack on US soil?
