We just want a little respect. I can tell that you and I are not going to agree on this subject.

Respect is an earned commodity. Most smokers I know will go out of their way to NOT smoke around someone who requests them nicely not to. OTOH, however, I know quite a few who, when faced with some belligerent jerk who DEMANDS that they not smoke, will light up then and there. This is a two-way street that should be worked out between individuals without dragging all this "your" rights and "my" rights garbage into the fray. I can't find a line in my copy of the Constitution that guarantees my right to not be offended or inconvenienced. I'm betting that you can't your's either.

He even misspelled my name.

That's true. I apologise.
My point is still valid.

That's ok. Your point is still invalid. But, this is another day and another thread.

Being a homeowner, I'm aware of many foolish laws such as the "attractive nuisance" ones, but those laws are not as simple as you'd have them seem. For instance, if I have a 6' fence and the kid climbs over, I'm not necessarily liable. In other words, there are clear rules I must follow to protect myself from such liability and I do.

Don't I know that!!!!

The nice police Officer that visited my home Saturday night (at my request)informed us we should have let the dogs out when we saw the interlopers in our yard. I thought he was nuts - I don't need the liability of some 12 year old getting bit by one of my dogs. Officer informed me I would have no liability - my year is fenced with no rear access and my dogs are legally licensed. When the tresspasser appeared at the hospital for treatment they would be charged. Further, as long as the dogs are acceptable to my insurance company (they are) I couldn't be held civilly liable.

I was truly surprised.

Going back to main discussion - You're right about acceptable levels of tobacco smoke. laws can not be enacted declaring no acceptable levels (the only level acceptable to anti-smokers) because of the components and nature of tobacco smoke. Even non-smoking bars and restaurants would be shut down because there are higher levels of many of the smoke components because of simple cooking means.

SHEESH.

Of course not, you want government thugs to force your wishes for the use of private property on other people. Only other thugs and cowards want that.

C'mon Donnie boy, repeat after me;
I Donnie boy, do not believe in private property rights. I believe that my desires for the use of other people's property trump their property rights. I advocate government force being used to achieve my ends because I am too much of a coward to use force myself to achieve my ends.

Just say the little pledge and let everyone know where you stand and then we can move on to something else. C'mon Donnie, you can do it!!! Try to tell the truth.

That's ok. Your point is still invalid.

Would you care to tell me how my point, "So, just because it's a well known concept makes it right, or makes it so that we shouldn't fight for the actual concept of freedom from tyranny?", is invalid?

As an example, apartheid is a well known concept also, as is racism. Does that make either one of them right? Does that mean that either one of them should not be fought against?

Enlighten me, Don, I'm waiting with bated breath.

Just another Joe, we had our day of discussing this thing yesterday. I have moved on to other subjects. I don't discuss something and say the same thing over and over again, trying to explain my position to each person one at a time. My previous posts probably cover every facet of the discussion by now.

That is EXACTLY what you have been doing. If you don't want to discuss it anymore that's fine.
You've been asked many questions that you haven't answered, you've been asked for details that you haven't given.
In my book that makes you someone who can't defend their position, whether you admit it or not.

"In my book that makes you someone who can't defend their position, whether you admit it or not."

In my opinion, that makes me someone who gets tired of talking about the same subject over and over. I have explained my position as far as I know.

If you want to talk about something else, we are discussing Ky Gay Dads now and the Wal-Mart and Feminazis.

I have explained my position as far as I know.

And have given practically nothing that I can find other than, paraphrasing, "It's a democracy. Deal with it.", to back up your position.
Yours is an opinion, not a position.

You and I would probably agree on many things.
This issue does not happen to be one of them.

Tom, you need to go out to that rocking chair on your front porch. I understand that the crickets are cricketing, the birds are birding, and the sun is sunning. Have your significant other bring out a mint julip to you, and just enjoy the world. Things will look better to you tomorrow.

Address the statement, don't continue your delusions about me. You either embrace it or deny it, which is it? Or are you too cowardly to even answer?

I bet your mama is real proud of you. When do you switch to the democrat side of the aisle?

What ARE you talking about????????

I was referring to a bar owner who is a Democrat who could not comprehend your position on this issue while claiming to be a conservative.

Maybe, cigarette smoking harms the brain? That is what this entire thread is about.

It is apparent from this that being an anti-smoker harms the brain. But anyone with any knowledge of this issue is aware of the brain afflictions of the anti-smokers. Brainwashing has very detrimental effects on the workings of the victims' brains.

The extent of your brainwashing is evident from your direct parrotting of the anti-smoker mantras. Your family might want to look into deprogramming for you.
