None of this should surprise anyone. Any "legislation" that
the Bush Administration will supposedly enjoy no roadblocks on will not be worth passing anyway. These are ALL THE SAME PEOPLE, with differences that are only rhetorical.

O'Reilly said that according to his source, "Basically they said look, if you embarrass us - by us we mean the Democratic Party - if you, Bush-Ashcroft, indict Clinton on bribery or go after Hillary or any of this - we're gonna shut you down. We're not gonna do anything. You're not going to get any (legislation) passed if four years."

And this is different than what is currently happening how?

Whether there actually was a "threat" or not, the result appears to have been the same.

Absolutely nothing was done about Bill and Hillary Clinton's crimes.

And if I had to guess, I'd go with O'Reilly's story.

As far as I am concerned this "A very highly placed source falls under the same category as "A Friend of a friend" in a hoax or Urban legend

OK, assuming that this is true... since we clearly haven't seen 'his' laegislation passed, and we haven't seen any movcement on nominations... then evidently the rats didn't get any guarantees from him.

No way, didn't happen. Just for this reason that it would go public. Bush wouldn't dare allow himself to be compromised to this degree.

Some people and their pipe dreams.

Democrat leaders then explained to Bush, "If you put this thing on the back track and just play the game the way we've always played it here in the Justice Department since Watergate, where the powerful protect each other - then we'll keep an open mind on your legislation."

Well, since the DemocRATS haven't lived up to their end of the bargain, and are also holding up 400+ Judicial Appointments, it's time to put the Clinton's in jail!

On another note, doesn't this just prove how bad DC politics are - play the game the way it's always been played ... Indeed.

Excuse me while I go throw up.

Well this has been obvious from day 1! From the beginning of the Bush Administratration he has lied for the Clintons, and he will continue to obstruct any measures that will reveal the truth about these two.

I have laid all this at the door of Hillary, and her continued use of the stolen Republican FBI files. These files ruined Newt Gingrich and destroyed his contract for America. Looks as if they are on the way to destroying the Bush presidency, too.

The talk host's highly placed administration source said Democrat leaders then explained to Bush, "If you put this thing on the back track and just play the game the way we've always played it here in the Justice Department since Watergate, where the powerful protect each other - then we'll keep an open mind on your legislation."

I wonder why Watergate was treated differently.

"where the powerful protect each other"

The above excerpt is the whole thing in a nutshell. Once a political criminal reaches a certain level in the hierarchy then it's hands off.

Looks like O'Reilly needs a new source. This one is BSing. Timed for the elections also.

"The Democratic leadership made it quite clear to Mr. Bush that he would not get any cooperation - zero - on the part of the Democrats in the Senate and in the House if he pursued any kind of a criminal investigation against Bill Clinton."

If this be true, Mr. Bush is just as guilty as the Klintoons. But this ought to make all the R'pub politial lemmings happy. Anything Mr. Bush does makes them happy.
"Over the edge, mates. Let's go for a swim."
