I'm a conservative--not part of the mythical base that hasn't shown up since 1988, but a real conservative who votes--and I find myself very much at odds with the self-anointed "true conservatives" out there.
I'm also extremely angry at that crowd, because they refused to do any useful work when said work was vitally necessary, and they refused to vote for half a loaf and then b!tched about not getting anything.
So, Barnacle, if you're part of that crowd, please accept this token of my esteem: I don't care what you think of me, and you can take your opinion of me and insert it where the Sun shineth not. Nothing personal.

The conservatives saved Dubya's ass (including many of my misguided friends) by boycotting third party candidates in 2000. You should be grateful to them, not mad.

I worked harder than what was good for my best personal interest so that Conservatives would be elected in the Illinois primary. But, Illinois Republicans decided they want to run half-baked half loafs against Democrats in the general election. Perhaps the RINOs think Conservatives will vote for them because they are the lesser of two evils. I say evil is evil - greater or lesser.
I did not vote for our present RINO Governor, and I will not vote for a second one.
If Illinois gets Democrats, we deserve them. Its whats needed to wake us up and purge the RINOs from a once Grand Old Party. If we get RINOs elected, I don't want it on my conscience.
As to your other comments - The same to you.
