Yes, he did lose seats, but it wasn't because he was moderate, as your post suggested.Or that Bush will lose them as well by being moderate.

No one seems to read my posts. I never said that a loss this fall could be attributable to Bush's moderation. I said that history is against Bush (only FDR rebuked the trend of losing seats his first midterm), and therefore the momentum of history can be blamed for the loss and not Bush's (supposed) moderation. Austin Willard Wright tried to twist the words of most around, too. I don't think that Reagan moderated himself and lost as a result of it. I just think he was a victim of history.
