FOLSOM, Calif. (AP) - State power grid operators issued their first alert in nine months, saying that energy supplies were low because of a heat wave in the Southwest that forced out-of-state wholesalers to divert electricity elsewhere. The California Independent System Operator declared the alert Thursday. It was the lowest level of warning used by the agency and called on power generators to avoid unnecessary outages.

Your explanation should solid. The only caution, is that east of the Rockies, the weather has been and continues to be very dry. I have hear a number of statements about very significan drought and near "dust bowl" conditions. I don't see that being a problem in your case, but in some western states hydro could be in short supply depending on the drainage basin.

You are absolutely correct. If only we could tap the wasted energy of the nodding-heads of the liberals in Kalifornia. Why are they all so damn guilt-ridden that they have to vote to redistribute hard earned wealth. Is it because the rest of the year they are such jerks to be around?
