When the Gov was challenged about how short the state was, when he seemed oblivious to the magnitude of the shortfall in January, he referred to some credit-scoring analyst who was also surprised at the lack of funds.

Before he turned the conference over to a budget wonk, he also mentioned that since Prop 13, the state has only been able to rely on income tax and sales taxes and due to the shortfall in income taxes, he'll have "to look and see" if there is anything that can be done to change that.

Sounds like a bigger sales tax for many items coming.
