DUMB MISTAKE': Bureau to question ex-Davis aide, who admits taking campaign check was 'stupid'

Davis announced Thursday that he will return the $25,000 donation from Oracle -- "in view of recent developments." The administration is meeting with Oracle and its business partner, Logicon, to rescind the software contract before the state has to make its first $14 million payment in September.

"said that accepting the $25,000 campaign check was "stupid" but insisted that his role in pushing the $95 million no-bid contract"

$25,000.00 helps influence a $95,000,000.00 "no bid" contract? That's only (approx.) .00264% of the contract value? Davis isn't even a good politician.

Thanks for the ping!

CNBC 's gal in Los Angeles just had a short sound bite that Gov Davis has announced he was returning the $25,000 contribution to Oracle and that Lockjaw had returned $50,000 earlier!

And that the contract with Oracle was going to cost taxpayers millions!

Lots of Bond Buyers watch CNBC might have second thoughts about buying the Power Bonds!

U.S. Attorney John V. Vincent announced Monday that he had directed the FBI to look into the Oracle controversy to see if a full-scale federal investigation is warranted.

I heard on the radio this morning (KSFO-San Francisco) that there may also ensue an investigation (FBI?) into a very large number of "no-bid" contracts that have been uncovered. Any chance there will be more evidence of quid-pro-quo? I say YES! Davis is as corrupt as they come. And not particularly smart. The "little general" has arrived at his Waterloo.

RECENT DEVELOPMENTS...? as in being caught..

So I can rob a bank and when arrested can return the money "in view of recent developments"..

Typical leftie thinking....

As the early stages of a possible full-blown federal investigation began, Arun Baheti, the former Davis technology aide, said that accepting the $25,000 campaign check was "stupid" but insisted that his role in pushing the $95 million no-bid contract is being overstated.

I would suggest Mr. Baheti cut a deal with the feds soon. Based on this article, there could very well be a RICO prosecution of those closely associated with Davis and these no-bid contracts. If Davis is re-elected, he will not be able to survive in office for a full term. He is going down.

If Michael Chertoff, Chief of the DOJ Criminal Division, ordered the U.S. Attorney to prosecute the PA state supreme court Chief Justice for obstruction of justice related to his divorce proceedings, Chertoff is not going to let this slide.

The difference is that Michael Chertoff is the Chief of the DOJ Criminal Division.

Oracle can't explain why Mehta ... waited until after the deal was signed to give the $25,000 check to Baheti.
It's simple: he waited until after he got the goods to hand over the dough. When dealing with someone as unprincipled as Davis, one should receive the signed contract before paying any money.

The Davis campaign said it received the check on Feb. 22 but that Oracle inexplicably stopped payment on it.
My, my, Oracle is very stingy. If they don't get any new benefits, they won't pay the bribe money.

As Liz and a few others have commented to me, we are afraid to be really creative and honest with this photo.

Be my guest and ping me for I will be off the board most of this coming week starting tomorrow. The Honey Do List will be worked on as part of my Mother's Day Present to my Bride. She is off this week, and when I'm not Honey Do Thissing, we will be taking a lot of day trips.

This Photo offers vast potential for creative conservatives in this current situation:

I APPLAUD YOUR CREATIVITY, MR CARRY OKIE. LOVE AND KISSES FROM YOUR GREAT GOVERNOR, ME!

Besides the obvious, doncha think that "snake tongue" gif that sometimes wiggles out of hillary's mug would be appropriate here?

Absolutely.

I'm pinging Howie as he has an evil creative conservative mind with pictures like this.

This is like your big "DUMP DAVIS stickers. We can do these things on our own and drive Benito's supporters even whackier!

As you know in your dealings with them and their bed buddies, the Enviralists, they have zero sense of humor and very thin skins. Plus, a bit of humor might wake up a moderate or even a conservative to vote for Simon this November.
