-- Republicans have an especially unfavorable view of Davis, with a whopping 69 percent disapproving, and just 27 percent approving. Even the majority of Democrats, 53 percent, disapprove of the governor's job performance, the poll showed.

I know we're a little more stringent in our tastes here at FR than most, but is it plausible that 27% of Republicans don't disapprove of Red D.

I have a friend who feels that the Davis media will dump this stuff now and try to paint him as a good governor, later, when he fires about 6 flunkies and rejects the contract.

I was thinking about this as well. He's already started the "purging" of the staff. He doesn't care what heads roll as long as it's not his.

Simon is going to have to be diligent on this, constantly bringing up Davis' culpability. I can see Davis now, in a debate, saying, "I take full responsibility, and that is why I fired everyone involved with this. I hope the good people of California know that I truly regret what my people did, and that I want the opportunity to make it up to them. And I am pro-choice and my opponent is anti-pro-choice, so you really have no option except to vote for me."

Dump Davis.

Front page news(unfortunately not the headline) in Sunday's Long Beach Press Telegram! Article prominently mentions fact that Grayout took a $25,000.00 bribe campaign contribution from Oracle right after the contract was signed.

When I saw that stat, my hackles on the back of my neck just stood up.

You posted, I know we're a little more stringent in our tastes here at FR than most, but is it plausible that 27% of Republicans don't disapprove of Red D.

I will borrow part of an infamous question from the bent one and say, "Define Republicans!"

Each day in Kali land, I'm amazed at the people I meet who call themselves republican and conservative. They want a partial free lunch re their PG&E bill, and they have no problem with this Whoreacle contract and praise the PA's in Israel as brave freedom fighters.

I will never forget the so called Kali female conservative republican who had two stickers on her BMW's rear bumper.

On the left side "Boxer/Pro Choice" and on her right side, "Impeach Clinton". We stopped speaking when she refused to admit that electing Boxer helped to keep the Bent One in office.

Well D. I am 4th generation Californian who has been a Conservative member of the community since my first vote in 1952. In the early days, we voted for political policies and a desire for cleaner better laws. The problems in California started when the folks from other states suddenly found California to be the land of the free. Good climate, clean water, good schools and clean government. We were neither anti or pro Christian values. We were strong American families. I see you have categorized us now as members of the evil devil worshipers of olden times. We are only as good as the citizens of the state. Yes, I will admit we have many gays living in California but when I was growing up most of them were Conservatives, hoping that the government would not try to tell them what to do. Basically I can state that most of us were religious people but this was not a political issue and we knew to keep our agendas in the church. California is no longer a Christian state. Fact! This is not a threat but a stated fact. Abortion is legal in California and was signed into law by Governor Reagan! If you find California not to your liking maybe you should plan on a state like Utah. If all the people who hate my state would return to their own, maybe I could come home. As it is I can't afford to live there anymore. I will tell you frankly that CAlifornia needs people like me who saw the state grow from a few orange groves into a large industrial manufacturing state but now filled with people who are simply miserable living there. My generation of old timers are moving out quickly; basically we fear the Liberals almost as much as we fear the religious right who try to cast their labels on all of us who made that state a beautiful place for you all to live. I now live on the Colorado River where all the teenagers arrive every weekend and pollute our beautiful lake with their dreadful actions of nudity, promiscuity, drugs and crapping all over our sandbars. Do me a favor and keep your filthy kids in California. We cart them off by droves on Sunday nights.

Don't underestimate voter fraud.

Voter fraud is a serious concern, but with a state the size of California, it won't impact the governor's race (unless the race is as close as the Florida Presidential race!)

Voter fraud impacts local elections far more than statewide elections. There were races for the Assembly in 1996 and 1998 that Republicans BARELY lost that I'm sure voter fraud played a part.

There are many things that we need to do to end voter fraud, and the first step is to make the voter registration laws stricter. Unfortunately, the Democrat controlled legislature has made it EASIER to register, not MORE DIFFICULT. They also made it easier to submit absentee ballots -- not just the applications, but the actual ballots.

Simon's campaign, local Republican headquarters, local candidates, and those concerned need to develop a plan to counter potential voter fraud by identifying the common ways Democrats commit fraud and how to counter them.

However, remember that if someone is eligible to vote and although their ballot may have been submitted improperly or there are other irregularities, if they are eligible to vote no judge will throw out the ballot. We need to focus on PREVENTING fraud, and the first step is planning.

Go Simon!

Do you still have the undocumented aliens voting in California? I wrote an expose on this back in 1992 but the RNC never bothered to do anything with it. I even flew to WDC to ask the INS make all new citizen's database available to the Registrar of Voters in every California county. The GOP dragging their feet is sad indeed. I found it easier to move to Arizona. Only actions from the voters themselves in accordance with the California Republican Organizations will ever guarantee that at least 75% of the voters are actually citizens. Get your voters involved or you will never rid Sacramento of the Liberals. Is Davis still anti-vouchers? You might check on his last 4 years in highschool. He attended a very exclusive military prep school called Harvard Prep school. What a two-faced bum this guy is. Of course, he never had kids and would never believe the crap that is being taught in the public schools. I sent my kids to Christian schools where they were taught to overlook any Liberal thoughts. Both graduated from Berkeley and ended up Republicans!!! Well, one is a Libertarian! It can be done!

You posted some great words of wisdom here:

Don't underestimate voter fraud.

Absolutely! I predicted massive fraud in the presidential elections this past November and no one wanted to believe me until about one week after the election.

I really don't believe that you voted republican then or the last ten years. All you do is post anti republican and GW remarks! A FR profile search on your replies the last 8 weeks shows nothing but anti GW and republican hate replies.

I doubt if anyone else who isn't a similiar game player believes you. I have yet to see you add a single reply of value to any post. Your replies are anti republican and GW with zero value added.

Well said. this is what I posted on anothere thread:

"I feel sorry for the sane people living in Ca."

Don't feel sorry for us, support us and pray for us. Don't tell us to get out because you cut and ran. Don't tell us, it's hopeless, because you couldn't stand it in the belly of the beast. Many here on FR tell us just that and to them I say "All is not lost!" Go to the CA locale page and look at the names, some of the best and the brightest of FR are from California, FR was founded in CA. This is Reagan Country. We will prevail!

Of course I'm now anti-Republican BECAUSE THE PARTY I GREW UP IN AND HAVE VOTED FOR SINCE 1980 HAS BECOME A LEFTIST SUPPORT GROUP.

Can you honestly say you are happy with the direction of the party?

I'm very pleased when the whiners who lie about the party 24/7 and complain about the party 24/7 are left standing in the side of the road. Most of whom have not voted for the party since Ronald Reagan if they ever voted for the party. Most whom spend every moment of their wasted lives complaining about the republicans and GW and never offer a single positive thing!

Here is a little wisdom on this subject from a very wise man on this board:

Robinson's Maxim: If you vote for anyone other than a Republican you are supporting a Democrat.

Good luck.
