And from the LA Times:
Oracle Pact May Have Violated Law
We have this deep in the article:
Federal agents already had seized the department's computer hard drives and 12 sacks of trash, including papers that apparently were shredded Wednesday.

And Governor Davis complained about ENRON! So did the honorable Senator Dianne Feinstein. Where is her voice of outrage?

SHOCKING! ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING THAT THE VAST RIGHT WING IS, ONCE AGAIN, BESMIRCHING A PURE, SUFFERING DEMOCRAP.
IT'S NOT ENOUGHT THAT GOV DAVIS DID SO MUCH FOR THE STATE DURING LAST YEAR'S ROLLING BLACKOUTS BUT NOW THIS!
HAVE YOU NO MERCY?

If I'm not mistakened Benito II Davis, received one of the biggest political donations from Enron. I believe that it was in the 100k range.
I'm sure that one of our great blood hounds will have the exact amount posted before the day is go re Benito II's blood money from Enron.

How far will it reach? Goodness knows with the Rats in charge of the State Legislature and the State Attorney General's Office, there'll be the tendency to shield Gray Davis from the worst effects of an Oracle fall out til after the November elections. After all the Rats learned from the Clinton saga that if you hang tough and stonewall and obstruct justice, you can get away with anything. The sheeple are too anethetized to care about what goes on inside the government anyway. You'll hear them with the help of their compliant media, to pin this on the vast right wing conspiracy. Moreover, they're going to trot out the line that if Davis knew anything it was only after the fact. This hokum from a governor whose micromanagement of state activities is no secret to Sacramento insiders and the public, but repeat a lie often enough and people will begin to believe it. Right now Davis just wants this to go away since it adds credence to Bill Simon's critique that Davis' experience hasn't been an asset to the state in his four years in office. The problem for Davis is his pile of headaches will only grow bigger. How good is Davis at crisis management? It certainly looks like a long hot summer on the griddle seat ahead for the incumbent governor.

That's probably about right - I've heard figured between $93,000 and $120,000...

This is going to blow sky high!I wish you prove to be right, but all too often the liberal lockstep media can lead public perception around by the nose. Enron shouldn't have been an issue against Bush, but it was portrayed as somehow his personal fault, and the selling of our oil reserves should have been one against Gore, but it wasn't. Simon didn't do anything but refuse to show his income tax returns to the media, and he takes a big media hit. Davis takes a $25,000 bribe, and by the time the media gets done spinning it, he'll be seen as a folk hero.
I hope it doesn't work that way, but haven't we seen it happen enough times?
