What do you think? Too much of a stretch? The article doesn't specifically say that he worked for the Department of Motor Vehicles, but I wonder if someone knows or can find out.

Another version of the story from a local TV station:

Burned body found behind store

(Wethersfield-WTNH/AP, May 2, 2002 Updated 8:15 PM ) _ Police have identified the body found near a strip mall dumpster in Wethersfield last night.

Watch the story from News Channel Eight's Erin Cox Police say 40-year-old Philip Hurley of Rocky Hill is the victim.

Hurley was a part time employee at Steve's Price Cutter Liquors. He worked at the state Department of Information Technology.

The body was burned beyond recognition but police suspected it was Hurley, whose car was still in the strip mall's parking lot.

Police say they have little information to go on so far. They are asking anyone with information to call investigators at (860) 571-2900.
