I would bet that Simon spoke both yesterday and today, and that all that will be reported is W. That for this week is good enough, for the primary objective of the day was 'getting some $$$$ in the bank for when W. isn't here. Simon will do plenty. It is what 'we', and I'm a part of that we, do that will turn the faucet of the California Republican party.
How do we bring the RINO's into the mix? They have the 'way' to reach the undecided, do they have the will? The northeastern RINOs wouldn't get behind Schundler in New Jersey, where is that 'biggest issue?', we need to resolve it here in California. Davis wants 'abortion' and 'choice' to be the issue. Apparently, he feels RINOs will shy away from Simon because of it. Keeping the 'state' out of the 'choice' is my argument. And, 100% of Sacramento's politicians mothers 'Chose' Life.

My theme song on the issue is that Davis is a one-issue extremist, whereas Simon actualy sides with the majority.
Most people believe in some limits on abortion (not third-trimester, parental notification, etc.). Simon does too. Davis doesn't.
I'm willing to work. I'm also wanting to be led to a degree. (With Bush, Dole, and Lungren, I had the experience of working for someone who wasn't working for himself. Don't want to do that one again!)

The way to do this is have Simon work with his Lt.Governor nominee and run together as a ticket. McPhherson is a RINO. But he'd help Simon get some credablity from the left and the center wings of the Republican Party. Hey at least Simon will be able to leave California without any fear of any mischief.
