One fix I saw advanced here on FR was "No representation without taxation!"

What we have now is that there in an unproductive class that can levy taxes on the productive classes to support them. I'm no sure that the waves of immigrants we would welcome wouldn't succomb to the siren call of liberal entitlement.

Maybe, after some uheavals to teach us the same lessons we already should know, liberalism would wane.

I don't know where you live, but there are plenty of people who were born here, whos parents were born here, whos grandparents were born here, who are being supported by our taxes. Why target one group?
