California Gov. Gray Davis doesn't support same-sex "marriage," but he may be interested in helping his state become the second to enact civil unions for homosexual couples.
"I am establishing a task force to review what Vermont has done to find out if any of those measures are applicable to California," Mr. Davis recently told the Bay Area Reporter, a weekly newspaper for homosexuals.

in a March 29 issue of Frontiers, an online news magazine for homosexuals, Mr. Davis said he opposed same-sex "marriage," saying, "As I stated in 1998, I am a practicing Roman Catholic. My opposition [to homosexual "marriage"] is based on my religious views."
How bloody well convenient. My question to governor Dufus then is that if he is such a "practicing" catholic why does he thinks abortion is just dandy, and why he doesn't give Simon the same pass on these issues since he's catholic too.
Speaking of "sanctimonious hypocrites"!

Unfortunately those of us who consistently vote against twits like this are the ones who get what the others deserved to get. We are kind of like the reluctact conscripts who get boiling oil poured on them at the bottom of the castle gate. They didn't particularly want to be there, but it didn't matter, they still got burned.

This is going to go on all the way to November. Stuff that he wouldn't go near a year ago will now start coming up daily, as he trys to shore up the fruitcake vote. Literally.

Mr Abortion or kill that fetus, and I will pay for the killing of that fetus states:
As I stated in 1998, I am a practicing Roman Catholic. My opposition [to homosexual "marriage"] is based on my religious views."Davis is no more a practicing Catholic than I am a practcing member of the Martian Ice Hockey Team!
If there was a Catholic Bishop or Cardinal with balls and integrity, they would confront him 24/7 on his Pro Abortion/killing babies in their mother's womb stands! However, they won't!
To: Zathras
If Davis is so bold as to champion a measure like this, we will expect, of course, that he set the example by embracing a same-sex union of his own. Preferably with a homeless man, of course, to display his compassion. A homeless man with no teeth and whiskey breath -- to display his commitment to extending his own medical insurance policy to cover someone less fortunate who needs coverage.
Does that sound like a fair test of his commitment level?
To: ElkGroveDan
Davis is pathetic. He is NOT a practicing Roman Catholic. If he WERE a practicing RC, he wouldn't support abortion, homosexual "unions" or forcing Catholic hospitals to provide so-called "contraceptives" to women.
You can't and shouldn't separate your moral values from your political life. Doing so makes you the biggest hypocrite.
Davis needs to be fired.
Go Simon!

Gray Davis warms to same-sex unions-- "a vain attempt to shore up his liberal base," Chills, just thinking about it-- 60% who voted for Prop 22 won't cave to the logic of populist leaders who say anything to get elected.
To: Digger
It makes it tough sometimes to stay with your religion.
My eighty something MOL is a life long Methodist, and what her church has done to destroy her religion in the last two decades has her in a real quandary.
At least now her currentminister is not a homosexual who doesn't believe in Jesus, God and the resurrection as some her past pastors have been. He is a believer and a family man and visits her on a regular basis in her new senior assisted living quarters. We are so happy that in her final years, she has a Christian as a minister.
To: ElkGroveDan
Just make sure you spell his first name right, some folks in their hurry leave out the 'R'.
To: Grampa Dave
Isn't that the truth? Organized religion has done more to self-implode by teaching its members "HOW TO HOLD THE ROD," instead of "holding to the rod."
To: let freedom sing
The mistake that most of our organized religions has made is to allow non Christians and non believers to become priests, pastors and ministers and to control the divinity schools.
If you want a real eye opener, go to just about any divinity school and interview some of the current crop of future priests, pastors and ministers and probably rabbis. These divinity schools are infested and controlled by non believers, who push out or make life miserable for the believers. Finding a real believer is a real challenge these days.
