[history]
The Washington Post reported today that President joked about signing the unconstitutional Shays-Meehan campaign finance reform bill passed by the Senate last week.
Bush, in a statement issued Wednesday night, had expressed misgivings about whether parts of the bill were constitutional but said that he would sign the bill anyway.
His decision to sign the bill has kicked up a firestorm of dissent in the conservative community, including a scathing editorial by The Washington Times and a letter from the American Conservative Union signed by 60 conservative leaders.

While I certainly decried the signing of this bill, I still must question your judgement in stirring this particular pot at the very moment when Islam and the American Left are doing everything in their power to orchestrate hatred towards the President and America.
Your timing sucks, and your motives are suspect.

I think in my talks with Uncle Bill over the last 2 months he is trying to say that conservatives that care what The President does are always called suspects as you say. Heck I can't even get a reply to a Cornell story here at a Conservative site because it questions The Presidents motives.
Here is the story

So in my opinion what you are saying is that as long as President Bush does it its fine but if a rat democrats liberal does it its not, which is crazy! Its not right for either to do it and for sure not President Bush.

No, I'm not saying that, and your claim that I am is insulting and false.
What I'm saying is that your timing sucks, and your dislike for the President is clouding whatever judgement you might have had.
Scoring cheap political points when the President and our country are under vicious attack from the Islamists and the Left is stupid and immediately calls into question your motives and your judgement.
Are you too blind to see that CFR pales in camparison to the life and death struggle for the future of our nation and our world that is under way this very moment, today, this week?
Perhaps you are.

It was said in general but to you because you posted on here and the others that posted are from back in March.
I just want to know what the problem is with the facts when we are presented with them on this matter, CFR, or many others that we are to turn a blind eye and act like ho hum nothing is wrong. When I know for a fact if this was Clinton or Gore doing it we would all be outraged?
The nation is under attack from within and without. That is a fact. From within for the last almost 70 years by communist socialist infiltrators. From the outside by Islam and communist socialist. I agree there.
But with this matter on this thread its CFR and on others its other things. Question is still the same, why a pass and why are conservatives being called suspects?
CFR is a very important issue and come the 2004 election you'll see just how important it is and it does compare to the War.

bump!!!
I thought this was a new article--I read the whole thing (what? GW is in Latin AMerica?) and I thought maybe this was about some new bill to replace what was upheld today. Confusing...
THis is the second old thread I've seen today; there must be more. People are understandably upset but we've got to figure out a way to replace this law.
What WILL be hard is figuring out how to deal with the ignorance/apathy of people who should know more.
I have a friend, former military, intelligent and well-read. He had no idea what CFR was or what this ruling meant, and when I explained the significance, his answer was tantamount to "so what?"
CFR is complicated to begin with... and Americans are already complacent about their rights: both factors amount to an uphill battle.

LOL... this was originally bumped up in January; I just quoted EV's post from then.
Sooooo....I guess "the American Left [is always] doing everything in their power to orchestrate hatred towards the President and America."
