Dont forget the opinion polls pretty soon after 9-11 in Mexico which showed VERY WEAK SUPPORT nor CONCERN for the United States after the attack. Some "allies" at the grassroots, eh? The big concern in Mexico was whether this meant an even stricter USA border to cross.

I remember some polls of illegals in California from Mexico also showed this very self centered, self culture centrific dynamic on the part of Mexico.

Bush is too nice of a guy and it translates into naivety on a grand scale in foreign policy as executed through his State Department and INS. HIS Administration, now. For it is over one year out since he took over from Clinton and could have started cleaning the house. The next terrorist attack is on HIS WATCH.

I hope it does not then develop into an open border laying the groundwork for even more hideous US attacks, but it may very well happen that way. An immense, stupid political risk if you ask me. If there is a major attack and he was seen as being all open borders again, you can bet a conservative candidate will take up the standard against him in 2004, or we may have a conservative populist take up an independent party route in protest. It happened to his dad.

You know, I actually wanted to beleive what you say about him. I voted for this pallazo and I had hoped he would really turn things around with illegal immigration. He led us to beleive he would control immigration and then did a back flip on us. At first, I gave him the benefit of the doubt and figured he was being over compasionate and naive.

But when he sucks up to Foxy and obviously intends to accellerate the illegal alien problem rather than fixing it, he shows me his true colors. He is looking to provide business with an unlimited source of cheap labor and the American public can be damned! He'll just let us pay for all their welfare benefits and health/education goodies.

But let another 9/11 thing happen and he will be toast along with anyone who supports this ridiculous illegal plan. The next time, you will see a hue and cry to round up and deport every single last alien in the country.

I would not advocate putting foreigners in jail in such a case, but we certainly have the right to order them out of the country. It would be sad to see, but we really need to stop putting P.C. ahead of our national security.
