After he reaffirms his ties with Mexico, he might try reaffirming his ties with those who elected him by enforcing border and immigration laws.

Does anyone doubt El Presidente Jorge Arbusto is a traitor?
It took Clinton 8 years to sell off our technology to our overseas enemies. It looks like it's Jorge's job to sell us out closer to home, and he'll accomplish that in record time.
I think it's time to start planning impeachment.

Bush said he seeks a policy that recognizes "the unique nature of the Mexican in our country ... and that we do have a special relationship between our countries, not only defined by NAFTA, but defined by cultural and historic ties."
Our policy ought to be to encourage Mexico to emulate more of the unique nature of Amnerica.
Fat chance.

"Mexico is different from other countries, not only because of our proximity, but because of our special relationship," Bush said at a joint news conference closing his talks with Fox at Monterrey's Governmental Palace.
Bush said he seeks a policy that recognizes "the unique nature of the Mexican in our country ... and that we do have a special relationship between our countries, not only defined by NAFTA, but defined by cultural and historic ties."
What Cultural Ties? Furthermore, you want to break the law, Bush, help destroy the American worker, etc.? Bush is WRONG for America.

I find myself wondering exactly how Presidente' Fox is able to sit down with Bush's lips so securely fastened to his butt(?)

..... "We're analyzing not only what took place in the past, but the most effective way help Peru fight narcotics," he said .....
Dear Presidente Jorge
The most effective way "help Peru 'fight narcotics,'" is to be found in the repeal of
Prohibition, the only "drug crime"
I guarantee that once the consequences of repeal take effect, there will never be another "drug problem!
And you, El Presidente, will then be FReed to begin to take care of America's real concerns:
BORDERS!
LANGUAGE!
CULTURE!
Best ones, El Presidente

The average Mexican citizen, whether in Mexican government/leadership, or at the grassroots, doesn't give two farts about American security and our attack on September 11. They have the least compassion and anger about it among our "allies". Public opinion polls and editorials in Mexico and in the US after 9-11 back this up.
It is all just "what's in it for ME? Will this close the border for our emigration?"
I don't believe America should continue to naively award this kind of national attitude.

The very last official contact anyone in my family has had with mexico came from the business end of a muzzle loading firearm in 1836. I see no reason to amend or revise that message.
They may wish to review some REPUBLIC of TEXAS battle flags, so they may better understand the deep sympathy & warm feelings some of us hold for that Land of Infinite Corruption, Drugs & Death:
Museum of Fine Art, Houston,Texas until April 28,02
Also an article on the FLAG exhibit at Texas Highways Magazine March 2002
I should imagine a review of the various flags employed in our last friendly encounter might be very instructive.
They also need to take note of the Goliad flag, not in the exhibit-it said something like
COME & TAKE IT!
and for some reason it had an image of a cannon on it.
mexico-What's not to love in such a beatiful place, eh Senor?
