If you re read 43 you might notice that I was laying out the Mexican rational for violating our borders. Those are not my opinions.

Stats on Mexicans are one thing, but this Mexican agency is trying to include Americans in their numbers. Of those 23 million they cite, only 9.5 million are actually Mexican. The rest are naturalized citizens or people of Mexican descent. They're American, not Mexican. The point I was making is that Mexico has lost the economic output not only of those here temporarily, but also the output of those families who have fled over the years. These people, both US and Mexican citizens, are 23 million people who are not adding to Mexico's economy. Were Mexico not governed by such corrupt politicos, most of those 23 million would be in Mexico.

Hey, don't get me wrong--Spanish is an important language and the bearer of a truly great culture and literature. I encourage my kids (and anyone else for that matter) to learn it.

But English is the language of world commerce, research and technology. It is also the language of these United States. It is foolish at best, and sinister at worst, to allow a language to compete in official status with English in this country, whether it is Spanish or any other language.
