I wrote a proposal for privatization of several city services in my state and was astounded by the negative response I got from the voters (I was running for office at the time). They just could not allow "their" City workers to be replaced by low-cost, no bennies workers. Unbelievable! The City would save millions just by bidding out some services. The same goes for States and the Feds too.

California is a welfare state and State agencies hire thousands of lazies for high salaries and they all vote for dumocRATS. That is not going to change for the better.

I willingly left CA and my taxes, insurance, car registration, business fees, sundry licenses, food and gasoline costs went down by half. The last days oif the late great state of California are soon here, so I will say goodbye now in case I don't hear the giant sucking sound.

Good for you! At this rate, the last producing citizen in CA won't even have to turn out the lights when he leaves. They'll already be out.
