No I am sorry to say. We all meant to but it just didn't get done. Since you have a way with words, I will be appreciative of any help you can throw our way. Thanks in advance, FReeper "sis"!

You got it, Sis! I'm still on Narco-Pops for my tooth pain (seriously, they're lollipops with Fentanyl in them, for breakthrough pain -- called Actiq), but I'm slowing down and just eating mushy stuff so my teeth-remnants don't get as aggravated! I will probably start "ze letter" in the morning, and finish it off by tomorrow night! (I M A perfectionist; it's polished and perfect, or it's put in the trash!)

If the pain doesn't cooperate -- Monday at the latest, I pinky-swear!!

;-}

Unfortunately, Expedia can't perform my two major surgeries that I'll need before I can go anywhere. My first surgery is April 4th, and then my brain and c-spine surgery will most likely be this fall. (With tons of fun testing, and poking, and clanking in between.) (I love the sound of an MRI. "Jackhammer Symphony featuring the Trash Can Quartet.")

But give me some time for all that, and some recovery, and my hair to grow back at least a little bit -- and then LOOK OUT!! The "FRactured FReeper" rides again! ;-}

Okey-dokey. I wrote a letter. I have a fever of 102.4, my teeth are killing me, my throat's sore, I'm sweating but I'm cold, my head feels like it might explode -- BUT! I had something to say. I had a lot to say. So I stayed up all night and "said" it. It's probably too long for the Bee as it is now, so if you guys want to use it, get out your scissors! I just wrote it rough -- first draft. What came out is what's on the page. Beyond that, it's just what I feel. It may not be what you feel. But if it is, and you'd like to use it, or any part of it, you may.

(After this, I am taking another Narco-Pop and then going to sleep!! Love you all!!)

Here it is:

To the Editor:

The pro-terrorists who hang their banners on one side of Blackstone and Shaw, opposing true patriots on the other side of the street (who represent hundreds of thousands of people across the country) have written to the Bee repeatedly -- their sophomoric whining about those with whom they disagree nearly begging for laughter. When reading their "literature," the first thing that catches the eye of the reader is the sad but predictable name-calling, which the anti-war liberals use in place of the usual substance that letters to the editor were created to showcase.

For example, I just opened by using the term "pro-terrorists." This will, as it has before, raise their hackles, as they smack the breakfast table and whine, "Unfair!" The term "pro-terrorist" was coined after President Bush made it clear that there is no middle ground when it comes to terrorism. He clearly said, "You are either with us, or you are against us." Those who rally against American actions are clearly against us.

Not responding to the unlawful combatants' declaration of war, made on September 11th, 2001, by the infamous Usama bin Laden and his harried men, would have been the ultimate in recklessness and complete disregard of America herself and her citizens. The Armed Forces were called into action by their highly-respected Commander in Chief, in response to the terrorists' actions and in an attempt to bring stability back to that region. Humanitarian efforts began at the same time. Actively supporting President Bush and our devoted troops is definitely pro-American and anti-terrorist. What, then, would one call those who rally against American efforts against terrorism? "Anti-American" and "pro-terrorist" are obvious choices. If anything, it is a play on words; it is not "mean" and it does not "intimidate," "isolate," or "threaten" anyone who isn't clinically paranoid already.

The pro-terrorists, who have been seen purposefully kicking over a container holding signs belonging to the patriots at Blackstone and Shaw, besides showing other indicators of bad manners (at the very least) claim that their peace-loving souls are being pierced by the mean and nasty conservatives who "threaten" and "isolate" them. However, I have trouble viewing those who occupy said street corner for several hours every Friday evening as overly timid or threatened, and they're definitely not isolated.

The war protestors now have a "plan" to "bring justice through peace." If only we all would set a good example, set up a world court, and ride to its trials on our bicycles to eliminate the need for more fossil fuels, and give money to the poorest people we could find, then the world would be saved forever, and we would all love another without exception.

That sounds ridiculous, doesn't it? Yet that is exactly what the pro-terrorists proposed in their letter of March 16th. It sounds nice, but it sounds ridiculous. It sounds ridiculous because it is ridiculous. Why? Arabs - Muslims - hate Westerners, and will always hate Westerners. Their religion teaches them that Arabia should rule the world, and all who are in their way of ruling the world are to be hated. They are raised believing that to be a pacifist is to be weak and small-minded. They will not respect us, emulate us, or love us even if we save millions of them from death. They will take what we give, then they will laugh at us, and then they will begin devising a plan to destroy us. This is fact, it has always been fact, and it will not change. The best we can hope for is a controlled democracy that understands that America will not be attacked without a price to be paid -- a price that is unacceptable to them.

This is the price that, already, too many of our troops have already paid for undermining and destroying terrorism. This is why so many of our men and women are deployed miles from home, facing the expected and the unexpected, willing to die for our rights, our freedoms, and our country. This is why the patriots at Blackstone and Shaw every Friday evening are pro-American, and are supporting our troops. Muslims do not speak American peace. Theirs is a different kind of peace, and many Americans wouldn't recognize it as peace.

Last Friday evening, new signs appeared at the war protestors' area of Blackstone and Shaw, bemoaning the fact that children are dying in Afghanistan. Children are dying everywhere. It's a sad truth, but it is a truth. There are children starving to death in America. Literally. Yet the anti-war side is suddenly highly concerned with the Afghan children who are dying, or being killed. However, if we ship busloads of OB/GYNs to Afghanistan, they can find women in their first trimester of pregnancy and kill that unborn child, and the anti-war people would be happy with that. They would probably even fund that. It makes no sense to me, but then, nothing that those on the "other side of the street" do or say makes much sense to me.

Understand that I, the particular author of this letter, do not understand the hate that the Arabs have for us, either. I love love. And I love peace. In fact, I'm a big fan of peace. But there is a season for everything, and we are not in the season of peace right now. I don't like it either. The only thing keeping the anti-war personnel's dreams from coming true is reality. In the real world, there are some things over which we -- just people -- have no power. None whatsoever.

"God, grant us the serenity to accept the things we cannot change,
courage to change the things we can,
and the wisdom to know the difference."

Yours in Peace,

"we have trained and supported Osama Bin Laden and Saddam Hussein."

Good grief indeed. Not only can't the other side make an intellectually honest argument, they resort to lies.
