You're much to pessimistic in your outlook on the future of liberty and freedom in this country. I suggest you check out this article ... Left and Right: The Prospects for Liberty. The article's a bit dated, but its still relevant for the discussion about the prospects of liberty in America.

Thanks for posting the link. I'll have to read it later when I have more time. It would be remarkable if it altered my pessimism, uh realism, about the future of freedom. We'll see.

Thank you again for the link. I just finished reading it. It was a very interesting and informative perspective. However, I do not share the author's optimism about the prospects for freedom in the future. Like he said, Communism is socialism on the left and Fascism is socialism on the Right. Thus, the author's position confirms my belief about our 2 political parties -- the Democratic Party is socialist and the Republican Party is fascist. Both parties are collectivists and neither party promotes individualism. Many Americans seem to like it that way. I'm not one of them! And I don't see any force on the horizon capable of undoing what has been occurring in this country for 150 years, as well as globally. I remain pessimistic -- but enjoyed the read.
