October 11, 2001:

On Friday, Mr Bush signed a memo that limits briefings to the Democratic and Republican leaders of both houses of Congress and to the chairmen and ranking members of the House and Senate intelligence committees, "until you receive further notice from me".

A memo from Mr Bush said the limits were aimed at "maintaining the proper level of confidentiality for the success of our military, intelligence and law enforcement operations".

"I want Congress to hear loud and clear that it is unacceptable to leak classified information when we have troops at risk," he told reporters at the White House after meeting the German Chancellor, Gerhard Schroeder. "If you receive a briefing of classified information, you have a responsibility, and some members of Congress did not accept that responsibility."

The White House press secretary Ari Fleischer repeatedly declined to cite a specific example of unauthorised disclosures which had prompted the President's concern, saying only that "it's a reflection of the fact that our nation is now at war, and the rules have changed".

But a congressional aide said the President was particularly outraged by an article in The Washington Post on Friday that asserted that "intelligence officials have told members of Congress there is a high probability that terrorists associated with Osama bin Laden will try to launch another major attack on American targets here or abroad in the near future".

I have the feeling that Bush is pretty mad about this one...they have all been warned before...and whoever leaked the info will pay.

For every mother with a son in the military,

For every wife with a husband in the military,

For every child with a daddy in the military,

For all those praying that their son/husband/father comes home safely,

And for all those whose son/husband/father will NOT come home safely,

I hope the bleeping leakers pay. Big time.

I watched some of Politically Incorrect last night and they all thought that the leaker was a senator from California. This needs to go hand-in-hand with a threat to freeze the assets of any news outlet that publishes secret information.

Put it on the reporters to ensure what they get is allowable to publish.

Remember this leak went from a report to outrage from leftists and blatant misreporting from them and leftist England papers. Last night on the show (PI) -- two leftists were condemning BUSH (of all people) for antagonizing these countries. No one seems interested in the facts from the left.
