There are schools in the Dallas area with mascots like the Buccaneers, Raiders, Fighting Farmers, and the Scots. Perhaps I, as a Scottish-American, should be offended at their pictures of crazed barbarian men running around in dresses.
You make a good point. These cartoon mascots are caricatures no intended to be realistic representations. this goes well over the heads of the "people of color" so easily offended. I am sure they are not reading these posts, and even if they did would not be dissuaded.
