these folks have really made a good point ... the "outrage" over Indian mascots is a made-up racial grievance ...

"The message is, let's do something that will let people see the other side of what it's like to be a mascot," Little Owl said. "I am really offended by this mascot issue, and I hope the people that support the Eaton mascot will get offended by this." LOL LOL is anyone here offended? Well I guess some liberal may pretend to be offended to help them make their point..Personally I like it! White men may not be able to jump..but they can fight a Revolutionary war and a Civil war This seems a compliment to me. White men do fight for what they believe in..they do not whine !

Perhaps Mr. White Owl, ought to check out the BOSTON CELTICS or the NOTRE DAME FIGHTING IRISH!Those logos feature white guys, yet nobody is wetting the beds over this. As for living in a politically correct society, the concept should've died on Sept 11th. No Mr. White Owl, PC is a fraud, and you are being played like a grand piano.

I am so outraged. I am truly vexed. And hopping mad.
What were we talking about again?
"It puts people in our shoes, and then we can say, 'Now you know how it is, and now you can make a judgement.' "
Well, yeah. Maybe the members of this team will learn a lesson when huge mobs of white people fail to protest.

The players, made up of a mixture of American Indian, Hispanic and caucasian students, wear white jerseys with the picture of a white man in a suit on the front and the slogan "Every thang's gonna be all white!" printed beneath. If they really wanted to strike fear into the hearts of their opponents they should have made them white lawyers.

"It's not meant to be vicious, it is meant to be humorous," said Ray White, a Mohawk American Indian on the team. "It puts people in our shoes, and then we can say, 'Now you know how it is, and now you can make a judgement.' " Good, cuz it's pretty f*****' funny!
How much fun could the Blackhawks have with this?

Yeah!I like it too!
Now, how long will it take for someone to claim that having a White mascot discriminates against "people of color"?

Well it's about time the white man is getting recognition for his legendary abilities. I'm tired of the Redskins, Chiefs, and Indians having all the glory. :^)

Well if you are gonna use a white symbol that is analogous to an INDIAN be correct.
Indian mascots are usually BRAVES so therefore the White mascot should be a MARINE or MINUTE MAN not some wimp in a suit

They can call themselves "the Crackers" for all I care.
Speaking of sterotypes, check this one out: YeeHaw

"Fighting Whities" is ok, but I think "White Devils" would have been better. Hope these redskins can make this a national trend.
To: real saxophonist
An I-love-this-story bump!
To: real saxophonist
I don't think this is a good way to make a point. I think it's cute! I think the only people will be offended are the "people of color" who are offended any time the word "white" is mentioned. You know, white people aren't supposed to say they're white!
To: real saxophonist
Im shocked, offended, and outraged! Where do I line up for my reparations?
To: real saxophonist
Of course it will be racist to root for this team in any way.
To: real saxophonist
Sorry to disappoint them...but I am NOT offended.
I think it's great. The only "point" it proves is that some minorities have a chip on thier shoulder and look for reasons to get "offended".
Sincerly,
A Fighting Whitie

The "Dunking Dagos" would have made their point a little better. Why didn't they name the team the "Caucasians"?
To: real saxophonist
As a white man I am not offended and I can't see why injuns don't feel the same. We've lost some great college team names.
