Before Islam, the door to polygamy was wide open in the various nations: the Arabs, the Romans Wrong. The Romans did not practice polygamy, although in the later days of the Republic they did engage in a rather in-your-face style of serial monogamy.

I truly feel sorry for Muslim women. What utterly selfish, infantile, cruel, inconsiderate, abusive men they must put up with.

Interesting, to keep the man from sinning, legalise the sin.

Hummmm... Interesting arguments...A lot for a man to think about.
If he's a masochist.

I didn't feel like reading all this islamo-fascist babbling but I bet it did not mention the real reason for their sick sexual practices. (besides normal uncontrolled male horniness that is) When you are a movement of world domination you are going to lose a lot of males in battle. So to keep up the population up for future wars and conquests you must have polygamy. It's that simple.

In addition, women have menstrual periods "which in some cases last 10 days or more" and during which their husbands cannot have sexual relations with them. Therefore, it has been determined that a man might have a hard time being satisfied with one woman, and that it is better to rescue him from the sin of adultery by allowing polygamy. When a bunch of women spend time together their menstral cycles all line up, which means they all have their periods AT THE SAME TIME.

"The Prophet said: 'Do not ask a husband why he beats his wife'? According to the same principle, 'Do not ask a husband why he takes a second wife.'"Aside from the non sequitur, it is also interesting the numerous times der Prophet mentioned wife beating. The muslims believe the Quaran to be their god speaking to them, and so the *principles* are timeless; polygamy & wife beating are still acceptible and always will be. Sux to be an islamic female.

Sounds pretty much like the standard lines of "fundamentalist" Mormons who number about 50,000 in Rocky Mountain and Southwest states.

Polygamy....hmmmm....no wonder most Muslim men are mentally unstable.

They're complete b.s. arguments. Women have to be beaten and forced to put up with polygamy. John Gates is a writer who grew up in Kanab, Utah, where they have numerous polygamous "villages" scattered out in the boonies. His novel "Sister Wife" is an expose of the very real abuses that go on in these communities. They essentially "grow their own" girls and trade them like cattle. Many of the girls end up marrying their half-brothers, cousins, uncles, etc. It's a barbaric, sickening social practice whether it's American "polyamorists" or among Muslims.

Interesting arguments, but I don't think they will convince many people.
That being said, I would much rather see a polygamous marriage than a homosexual marriage.
