At this moment, I can’t remember which branch of our family tree had the Oliphants.
At one time like most of my ancestors in New England were loyal Americans and good business people.
Many of the original families were patriots and so were their off spring.
Must be the climate back there which liberalizes them.
My mother was in the DAR and Daughters of the Mayflower or whatever that group was called... maybe somewhere back there we’re related... ( still unlikely but has more promise now... ) Also part of the family was Scottish... had a castle. I saw pictures of it years ago and it looked more like a large stone house with most of the wall down - so I wasn’t very impressed. Houses must have been crap way back then. Could be related - - who knows - life is all intertwined.
