Quit saying that people were saying the same thing a hundred years ago. There is a tantamount of difference, and you know it. That is, if you are knowledgable about the subject. Uh anti-immigration people were saying the same rhetoric as you are saying now. That's a fact.
Oh BTW, most people come to this country to find a better life for themselves and their families and that hasn't changed since America's inception and is still true today.

Of course there was a difference in the type of immigrant attracted to the US before the great welfare system was developed. We now attract both ones who come to work and better themselves and many who come to get in on the freebies.

Listen, do you deny that the differences that I provided exist?
There is a huge difference. I will agree that most people come here for a better life, but immigration needs to be checked. Unlimited immigration, illegal border jumping, socialized welfare, among many other things, is a recipe for national suicide.

There is ONE major difference today - Do you recall 9/11? Or is that simply not important to you? I want my government officials working to protect American citizens. How the heck is providing an open door policy on our borders supposed to accomplish this?

"most people come to this country to find a better life for themselves and their families" And just how much longer do you think it's going to BE a better life if we keep letting them in and they keep breeding at the currrent rate?
