I think that you have identified a core defect in the man's personality...for which we all are paying now. I saw a television clip about a year ago in which an interviewer asked Bush whether he might change his mind on some issue. Bush's reply, delivered with smug pugnacity, was: "When I make up my mind on something I don't change it."

Ping to that..anyman that is resistant to change..well he may say something like "Islam means Peace" and "open the borders they are meaningless anyway!"
