Now, now, musn't be disheartened. He knows all about us, and what we think. Right now he doesn't care, because those poll numbers are so high. But when they start trickling down, he needs to know that his base is solid.

And unless we get this thing worked out (not by giving in), and a laundry list of other stuff, we're all going to be one unhappy base. Just listen to the talk radio shows...a lot of bewildered folks, calling in and saying...who'd I vote for?

He's playing good cop - bad cop with Aschcroft. The AG is lobbing the conservative hardballs while Bush plays good cop. They think they can keep us on the reservation that way.

But that may not be enough, and we have to keep letting them know that.
