I don't think we need to halt all the legal immigration, but we sure need to slow it to a trickle and only immigrate those people that would have a positive effect on our country.

Give me an example of what type of immigration would have a positive effect on our country today. Please keep in mind that the engineering profession is already over staffed with foreigners.

Let's stick to what is happening and not some "What IF" scenario

I strongly disagree. The only difference between my what if scenario and the current amnesty proposal that is on the table is the location of the foreigner with respect to the border.

Here is a "What If" scenario for you:

What if, tomorrow you fell in love with a woman that you though was the most beautiful woman in the world, she is the one you have been searching for all your life, and you can't see how you could ever live without her.

Now, the only problem is, she is an illegal alien living in the US and she is from Iraq.

Under your Immigration policy, she would have to be deported and you would have to move to Iraqi.

Now in my book, if you two got married, stayed in the US, she immigrates and becomes a citizen, and you two had children and one of your kids grew up to find a cure for cancer, that would be positive.

So what if this happened?
