I forgot to reply to the "cloaking" part of the previous comments. It means that by using the "voice vote", their votes won't be documented on their Congressional records.

How cute.

However, the folks at NumbersUSA and FAIR have announced that they will record and publish the voting records, and that a vote "Yea" will be recorded as being against responsible immigration.

Call Speaker Hastert, 202-225-2976 - and ask him how he's enjoying his last term as Speaker of the House?

If they think I and others won't base their future votes on this bill if it passes, then the only way they can count on me to vote for Pres. Bush, is to oppose him with either Hitlery or Gore - because that's the only way they can guarantee that I won't be able to vote for a Democrat. (Egads, I should have given myself a "Barf Alert" for that last sentence!)

Call and give them hell. I already did this morning and they are not my congressmen. Even if they are not your rep., still call and give them hell because they are the House Leadership and are responsible for bringing this to the floor for a vote. They will be responsible for the backlash that Republicans will receive for rewarding law breakers post 9-11. Don't let up. Phone calls and faxes are much better than email.

Hastert 202-225-2976 phone
Army 202- 225-7772 phone
Delay 202-225-5951 phone

I think the overarching aim here is to break down the borders of this country so that in time it does not resemble anything it once was.

I think the overreaching aim here, is to make sure we don't have borders-- by order of NAFTA and WTO.

WRine, have you heard anything that this was going to be a recorded vote and not cloaked as they planned? If that's true, at least we'll be able to see who the sellouts are. There seems to be some confusion out there on this.

According to the Wash. Times the 245I vote will be cloaked, meaning that the reps vote will NOT be recorded. The numbersUSA site is indicating that the votes will be recorded. See Below:

The House is scheduled to vote on the Section 245(i) amnesty next Tuesday (March 12). Although the White House had been pushing to have the House pass 245i without a vote by attaching it in Conference Committee to an authorization bill, it now appears there will be a roll call vote on the issue. Now is the time to act. Your phone calls are urgently needed.

Case law is not a cite from the Constitution. You are a deliberate liar, boy. You'll state, "According to the Constitution the federal government has the lawful power to have us all castrated at age 12." When someone says, "Where in the Constitution does this appear?" you reply, "In Joe Blow vs Gross T. Pimplepopper,113 US 261, 1999." And that is no answer at all.

I'm done with you, imbecile. You're not a conservative, you aren't an attorney and you most assuredly are not a FReeper. Go find a forum for imbeciles and stop wasting the time of people here.

I'm guessing you don't live in Texas. They're always for looser immigration. And remember that Texans were some of the biggest NAFTA supporters, too.

Everything is for sale, now. Citizenship can be had for $1000 dollars. Disgusting. Instant citizen doesn't mean anything.

When did Arne cite anything other than his repertoire of foul epithets? You're confusing him with avocadoboy who thinks that case law equals a Constitutional amendment.

Your buddy got his ignorant, foulmouthed head handed to him here.

The Mexican government estimates that between 300 and 500 thousand Mexicans would be permitted to remain in the United States as a result of the extension.

No on 245i. Mexico will do nothing about possible terrorist illegals they let pass thru our borders.

Ma'am, the handwriting is sure'nuff on the wall. What we're seeing is an open merger of the "two" parties. I knew that when this merger came it would come under a republican administration. I also knew that once we saw the merger beginning to happen, we would know that it's too late to redeem the GOP.

The old people I knew who kept saying in the 60's that the GOP would never be conservative no matter how many of us joined it knew exactly what they were talking about. When I saw thousands of Southern conservatives lining up in 2000 for the koolaid handed out by a Connecticut yankee pretending to be a Texan, it appeared to me that this world is just too ridiculous a place to be believed.

I hate to be so mean, but IMO, anyone who ever believed that Bush was a conservative is too far gone to ever really be awakened. They'll get a little ticked off, but come election time, their eyes will glaze over again and they'll close ranks, chanting, " At least he ain't a Dem". You watch. I've seen it too many times in the past 20 years.

House Majority Leader Dick Armey, Texas Republican, said House approval "will send a message to the world that our country will continue to be a beacon to all who love freedom and the opportunity to live, work and raise a family."

Continue to be a beacon to all who love freedom? Oh sure the illegals love the freedom to come to America to prey on American citizens. After all, 50 percent of the criminals in federal prison are illegal aliens. This sickening attempt by Bush and the GOP in congress to pander to the 'hispanic' will go down in history as the turning point in American politics. Both political parties are corrupt. Both political parties spit on the consitution, the rule of law and spit on the way of future generations of Americans.

NOTE.. I just called the majority leaders office. I asked the staff person how Armey intends to vote. She said she had no idea and that he has been going back and forth and that the vote is expected at around 6:30 pm et today. I then asked her what his last stated position was. She said she wouldn't have that type of information.... Thats when I ripped into her saying I would bet all your money and all the money from all the people in that office that he will vote in favor of amnesty for the illegals. In order to pander to hispanics he intends to spit on the constitution, the rule of law and the way of life for future generations of Americans. I said it's a heck of a way for a DICK Armey to leave office. Who knows, maybe Bush will nominate DICK to head the INS...That is if Bush doesn't propose dismantling it...

You read my mind....He doesn't have to deal with this on a daily basis like I do.....I am so tired of hearing a foreign language everywhere I go.....Apparently they have no intention of learning our native language either....If this goes through the President can let lost.....I had really hoped he was a true patriot but I guess not......

I just called my rep again (DeFazio D-OR). Turns out he's on a plane bound for D.C.. She said that they've had hundreds of calls about this already today, and guess what, all in opposition. Not one positive call. Oregon, you're making me proud.

It's very clear they have placed themselves in the enemy camp of invading hordes, they have set themselves against the people.
