My God. Can you imagine the outcry if the races had been reversed?

In my mind's eye, I can just picture Jesse Jackson in full fury decrying racism in America and the NAACP rushing to produce a political commercial blaming Geoerge W. Bush for it.

This woman is Black Trash..........so are Jesse and the NAACP race baiters.

That's what I was thinking... However, this appears to be part of a new trend, maybe... I seem to recall a news story sometime in this past year, which dealt with a Hit and Run in Las Vegas... what got the attention of the news, however, was the fact that while the victim lay in the busy street dying, people stole his wallet and searched his pockets etc... Sometimes, I'm ashamed to be Human...

Am I the only one who thinks the proper action is to shut up & let the Tarrant County Grand Jury & the DA do what they must?

A curious point-from a radio guy in Oklahoma City ( former attorney who claims in a calm manner that he actually READ the transcript from the trial & James Bird or Byrd was a graduate of the Texas Criminal Justice System & the hideous murder had roots back in "The Big House'!?!?!?

An aside, has it been widely discussed, the Grand Jury in California has been neutered by the DEM's? They may ONLY investigate what the DA approves or requests!!

I notice you posted this at 1:22 pm. In the 3 hrs its been on here there have been about 200 people responding to it in outrage. Thats out of how many thousand that visit this site in 3 hrs.

I just don't understand it, am I missing something here? Is there not 80,000 people registered with FreeRepublic? Was this just hype?

I'm new here but my heart is in the right place and I thought this was the right place to be. Today I sent in my first donation to FreeRepublic because I was very proud to be a part of the Freepers here, some weird, but I like them too.

If there truley is 80,000 good hearted, law abiding people here, lets hear from them, where are they. Can this site make a difference or just a lot of noise?

Mom_Grand, sadly what you see here is a reflection of our society in general. Only a very small percent of white people care about this. Most whites are in their own little world, as long as a problem dosent effect them personally, it dosent matter. It will come around to bite us on the ass in a BIG kind of way...it already has and will only get worse.

No. Not many news threads get over 200 postings in a few hours here at all, I think the outrage is visible. This story has set a new low in crimes committed.

Considering that this occurred Oct. 26th and it took until late Feb. for a tip to emerge, most of the focus should not be on FR but on the crime, the slow investigation, and the lack of news on the circumstances here.

Stay well and unapathetic.

Well, that's the argument to make, and the prosecutors are probably trying now to decide whether they think it's a winner.

I think they are going to face some challenge proving that it was even murder. It's easily manslaughter, but proving that she actually intended that the victim die is not a slam dunk.

Everything in this story indicates that this jerk simply didn't want to deal with the situation, and if you can jack up the mens rea to that necessary for capital murder from this set of facts, you're one hell of a prosecutor.

The best thing going for the prosecution is that the conduct is outrageous, and a jury isn't going to be very sympathetic to her in any event.
