Dear sir, from Day 1 most researchers considered Piltdown Man to be a fraud -- because he did not fit into the human family tree as it was understood at that time. It required waiting for better dating techniques though to prove the fraud allegation. You really do need to spend some time reading anthropological and paleontological texts that were not written by Jack Chick, but by people who know what they are talking about.

If these creationists would do just the tiniest bit of research before posting, these threads would shrink considerably! :)

Junior: Dear sir, from Day 1 most researchers considered Piltdown Man to be a fraud -- because he did not fit into the human family tree as it was understood at that time. Specifically, it was the sole scrap of evidence for the "Out of England" theory, just as that famous pig's tooth was the sole evidence for the "Out of Nebraska" theory. Evolution actually gives you a framework that says some things shouldn't be found. If they turn up you either have a hoax, a misinterpretation, or something is really wrong with what we think we know.
