I had heard and read as long ago as a year ago that Sen Thompson wouldn't run. I wish him the best in whatever his endeavor. He has been a champion of our Constitution and freedom. We need more conservatives like him. He has my highest respect and just maybe we'll look for him in some future acting roles, and definitely as a campaigner for Republican candidates in Tennessee and other states. God Bless you Senator!........ one Kansas Boy

I agree with you. Fred is leaving in part I think because he is not a Bush man. He supported McCain in the primaries and the campaign finance reform. It looks like all anti-Bush Republicans are getting out (Thompson/Helms/Armey/maybe McCain) to be replaced by Bush loyalists like (E.Dole & Alexander) - both worked for Bush Sr.

Lamar is too liberal for me. I consider him the ultimate RINO. He ran around with Al Gore last fall like a puppy dog. He also has plenety of dirty laundry as you can see here: Lamar Alexander's Skeleton Closet

Whatever you all may think of Thompson's politics, let me say this: If I take the time to write his office, they ALWAYS respond with a letter SPECIFICALLY addressing my issue or concern. I have never received that attention from another politician.
