You are right...The pond scum mentioned in this article would probably falsify data to make themselves look good no matter where they worked. Heaven knows there are enough people like them working in the private sector as well. These fur fakers are probably not held to such strict standards of accountability as you are, either, though they should be.

I'm not sure if I understand wat you are saying, but maybe I can restate what I meant. I think science is good, but I have seen too much of the way the suasage is made, if I may put it that way.

When the result has political or financial ramifications for the investigator, I trust no scientist.

The only way to convince me is to have replications by people with nothing to gain.
